An analysis of the expression of 482 genes aimed at identifying a favorable period for embryo transfer into the uterine cavity (determining the individual implantation window) in order to increase the likelihood of pregnancy.
Modern technology
Analysis is performed using the NGS (next-generation sequencing) method
Endometrial receptivity is the structural and functional state of the uterine mucosa (endometrium) at the time of implantation. This state depends on the stage of a woman’s menstrual cycle.
Usually, during a natural cycle, the embryo can implant in the endometrium:
7 days after the peak luteinizing hormone concentration in the blood (LH+7);
5 days after progesterone administration (Pr+5), in a cycle using hormone replacement therapy.
According to modern concepts, endometrial receptivity is an important factor for successful embryo implantation during ART(assisted reproductive technology) cycle, along with its morphological and chromosomal status.
The implantation window is the time period most favorable for embryo implantation.
On average, the implantation window lasts 48 hours; however, in some cases, its beginning and end may be shifted in time, leading to unsuccessful, sometimes repeated, attempts to conceive.
How is the test performed?
Endometrial Biopsy
The test requires an endometrial biopsy taken:
7 days after the peak of endogenous LH (LH+7) in a natural cycle
5 days after the first dose of progesterone (Pr+5) in an ART cycle
The biopsy is taken by a doctor and sent in a cryotube provided by the genetic laboratory.
Cryotube goes to lab
RNA Extraction & RT
Library & template prep
Results by software analysis
Precisely schedule embryo transfer
Results
Pre-receptive endometrium The implantation window is shifted to a later period relative to the time of the biopsy.
Receptive endometrium The implantation window corresponds to the time of the biopsy. Embryo transfer should be performed at the same time and under the same conditions as when the biopsy was taken.
Post-receptive endometrium The implantation window is shifted to an earlier period relative to the time of the biopsy.
Indications
Recurrent failure of implantation during assisted reproductive technologies (ART) cycle involving the transfer of chromosomally normal embryos.
